Nadia Anis, AIA, Partner, Ferrari Moe LLP Our September speaker will
be Nadia Anis, an architect and Partner of the firm Ferrari Moe, LLP.
Ms. Anis will discuss surface preparation and its impact on the success
of waterproofing and sealant installations. This presentation will
shed light on the most common problems with surface preparation. Ms. Anis
will examine the impact of product selection, procedures called out in
specifications, field application and the roles of manufactures, architects
and contractors in planning, specifying and executing the work. She will
take an in-depth look at the use and misuse of field quality control measures
employed to assess surface preparation issues. Ms Anis became a partner
at Ferrari Moe, LLP in 2001. She has over seventeen years of experience
in the construction industry and has done estimating for comparative bidding,
construction documents, contract administration and project management
with an emphasis on all aspects of the building envelope including roofing,
waterproofing and restoration work. She has headed teams for large-scope
investigations and evaluations of buildings, including investigations
of fire rated wall assemblies, plaza deck membranes, below grade waterproofing,
window and curtain wall systems and building envelopes of historic structures. Ms. Anis obtained a Master
of Architecture and Urban Design degree from Washington University in
St. Louis, Missouri and a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural
Engineering from Cairo University in Egypt. Ferrari Moe, LLP is a full service
architecture & engineering firm located in San Rafael, California.
