NOVEMBER MEETING

THE DO'S AND DON'TS OF WINDOW INSTALLATION
IN WOOD FRAME BUILDINGS

PRESENTED BY HARV ABERNATHY AND BRUCE MOSIAS, AQUATECH CONSULTANCY

Imagine a new community of homes in the half million-dollar range. Imagine that the General Contractor has years of experience and a good track record. Imagine that the homes are right on schedule (that's a real fantasy). Imagine during the first two years there are no leaks, butÉ.during the third year 90% of the homes experience leaks that are attributed to the window openings.

Harv Abernathey and Bruce Mosias of Aquatech Consultancy, Inc. in San Rafael will present slides and written information of their first hand experience of water infiltration problems with window installations. True stories will illustrate the standard of care needed to ensure there will be no leaks.

The presentation will include:
¥ Labor consideration
¥ Education of workers
¥ Proper sequencing
¥ Installation procedures
¥ Materials used for installation
¥ Instructions by manufacturers
¥ Biographical materials
¥ What is being done to alleviate the problem

Join us for a lively evening in which you will be encouraged to recount some of your own experiences.
