JUNE MEETING

CONSTRUCTION DEFECT LITIGATION
V.
NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE
PRESENTED BY: ROD TOSETTI, TOSETTI ELECTRICAL CONSULTANTS

Westcon Past President, Rod Tosetti has just returned from the National Fire Protection Association’s World Safety Conference & Exposition in Utah. Mr. Tosetti’s activities with the NFPA include membership in Necforum, Fire Science & Technical Educators Section and the Education Section.

Mr. Tosetti addressed the World Conference on the effect Construction Defect Litigation has on the National Electrical Code. Previously he gave this presentation at the National Fire Protection Association Conference in Chicago.

Mr. Tosetti’s speech usually takes two hours but he has agreed to condense the discussion to fit the Westcon dinner time frame. You can expect to hear about a specific code study that Mr. Tosetti has completed. This study demonstrated the diluting effect Construction Defect Litigation is having on the National Electrical Code.
Mr. Tosetti’s consulting service performs the practical safeguarding of persons and property from the hazards arising directly from the use of electricity. It is his belief that compliance with all codes and ordinances results in an installation essentially free from hazards.

Tosetti Electric provides practical consulting services to assist attorneys, property owners and insurance companies. The company’s case histories reflect both plaintiff and defense work, providing expert testimony, cost effective written reports and repair solutions to construction problems, discrepancies, disputes and accidents.
Mr. Tosetti received his Masters and BVed Degrees from San Francisco State University and his teaching credentials from UC Berkeley. He is a Licensed Electrical Contractor and Forensic Consultant with the State of California. He has testified before the California Legislative Assembly Committee on Consumer Protection, Governmental Efficiency and Economic Development and is a Published Code Educator with over thirty-three years of experience.
